I Remembered Your Birthday

Wednesday, March 31, 2021
Jan is hosting this week's Little Red Wagon challenge and she's calling out "Happy Birthday!".

I decided to use My Favorite Things' Old Friends stamp set to create a birthday card for one of my closest friends. We met in high school and we still get together regularly! The sentiment on this card is especially funny as Michelle and I share the same birthday so I'd have to be really forgetful to miss her special day! We have been using the same card for each other, passing it back and forth, for about 20 years now. This year, Michelle has the card so it's my turn to give a fresh one! I'll keep the one we pass back and forth and give it back next year. It's fun to read through all the messages we have left for each other over the years. They're getting smaller and smaller as we run out of space using front, inside and back of the card!!

Please head over to Little Red Wagon to see what the rest of the Girlfriends have created - and then make a birthday card for somebody you know! We'd love to have you link up and join us!

Dogs Leave Paw Prints on Your Heart

Wednesday, March 24, 2021
Happy Wednesday - I think!! For some reason (likely being home again and again from one day to the next!), I've been completely muddled on the days this week. I'm also mixed up with the weeks. I attend a virtual book club the last Tuesday of each month and planned my evening yesterday around book club, only to learn that next Tuesday is the last Tuesday of the month. Oh dear!

Chrissy is our hostess at Little Red Wagon this week and she's looking for "A heart or two... or three". Include at least one heart on your project and you're good to join us!

My colleague recently had to say goodbye to his dog so I made this card for him and his family. Our team also made a donation to our local animal shelter in honour of Eudora.

Please head over to Little Red Wagon to see what the rest of the Girlfriends have created - and then add a heart or two (or three or more!) to your next project in order to join our challenge too!

I am Really Missing You

Wednesday, March 17, 2021
It's time for a new challenge at Little Red Wagon and Imke is our talented hostess this week. Imke is challenging us to create one layered cards. This was a challenge for me as I usually have at least two layers so was wondering what I could do beyond simply stamping a sentiment on a piece of cardstock. However, I decided to use a stencil, some ink splatters and a heat embossed sentiment for the illusion of depth while keeping things to one layer. This card was fairly quick and easy to put together and I might have to create more one-layered cards in the future!

The stencil I used is from Reverse Confetti and the sentiment from My Favorite Things. The wonky die is Lil Inker Designs. After cutting my front panel, I kept the die on the cardstock in order to create a frame when stencilling. I made this card to send to a dearly loved friend who is going through a tough time right now.

Please head over to Little Red Wagon to see what the rest of the Girlfriends have created - and then try your hand at a one-layered card to join the fun!

Congratulations

Wednesday, March 10, 2021
Happy Wednesday! I'm thrilled to be hosting this week's Little Red Wagon challenge. In keeping with my 80s rock-themed challenges this year, the challenge for this week is "You Spin Me Round". Basically, I'm looking for circles of any kind - from circle-shaped cards, circled patterned paper, circle embellishments, circular frames, etc.

One of my colleagues recently gave birth to a baby girl so I made this card to offer my congratulations. I used a layered stencil set to ink all the circles. I also used a NBUS round "Congratulations" die that I received free with a MFT purchase a couple of years ago. And the sweet little donkey is from a Your Next Stamp set.

Please head over to Little Red Wagon to see what the rest of the Girlfriends have created - and then link up your own "You Spin Me Round" project!

With Sympathy and Love

Wednesday, March 3, 2021
It's Brenda's turn to host this week's Little Red Wagon challenge and she wants to see "Fun Feathered Friend". I have to admit that, when I wrote down this week's challenge, I simply wrote "birds". As a result, my card is not a particularly fun one. However, the birds are sent to bring comfort and love to a dear friend.

The birds I used are from Flora & Fauna's Woodgrain Bird stamp set. "With sympathy" was cut with an Avery Elle die set and "and love" is from a Hero Arts stamp set. The birds don't look quite as bright in real life but do have some Wink of Stella on them for a bit of shine.

Please head over to Little Red Wagon to see what the rest of the Girlfriends have created - and then link up your own "Fun Feathered Friends" projects. We're always happy to see your cards, layouts, home decor projects, tags, etc.!
