You are Very Space-Cial

Wednesday, June 29, 2016
It's Wednesday again already! Where does the time go? This week has been a busy but fun one. Our youngest graduated from elementary school (grade 8) and I can't believe he'll be heading off to high school in the fall. We're so proud of him!

This week, Brenda is our hostess at Little Red Wagon and she's chosen the theme Button It Up - use buttons on your projects. I used a fun set from Your Next Stamp to create my card (with Glossy Accents on the eyes), and used distress inks to create a galactic background. I finished things off with with some star buttons that I purchased off e-Bay years ago.

The little alien/spaceship is on an action wobble. So fun! (You can also click HERE to see the wobbling fun.)

Please head over to Little Red Wagon to see what the rest of the Girlfriends have made. Then, get out those buttons and create your own project to link up!

Thinking of You

Wednesday, June 22, 2016
Happy Wednesday - and welcome to our latest Little Red Wagon challenge! Jan is our hostess this week and she's chosen kraft as the theme. As long as you create with kraft, you can play along!

My card is a clean and simple one. I used kraft cardstock as my craft base. (How easy was that?!) I watercoloured a stencil that came free with a Papercraft Essentials magazine and cut it out with a My Favorite Things die. It looked a little too clean for my liking though, so I added some paint splatters. The sentiment - a freebie from the same Papercraft Essentials issue - was stamped right onto the kraft card base.

Please head over to Little Red Wagon to see how the rest of the Girlfriends used kraft! Once you've been inspired, create your own kraft project and link it up!

Miss You Pig Time - Camp Create

Tuesday, June 21, 2016
I've had a very busy few days but have still been able to spend some time in my craft room. I've been eagerly waiting for the arrival of my newest goodies from My Favorite Things. For some reason, there was a hold up in customs BUT my package finally arrived and I just couldn't wait to ink up some stamps from Hog Heaven! And I'd like to give a HUGE thanks to My Favorite Things as I won a gift certificate during their latest release and used it toward my purchase.

For Day 3 of
My Favorite Things' Camp Create, the class is all about Wonderful Watercolour. I've been doing more and more watercolouring lately and quite enjoy it. For this card, I used my Zig markers by scribbling on my craft mat, spritzing with water and then painting the panel with a paintbrush. I did a bit of masking too as the images are both on the same layer. I cut my panel with a Simon Says Stamp stitched rectangle die and finished everything off with a few sequins.

I've got two more cards to create for
Camp Create and they're due by the end of the week so you'll be seeing me again soon! Plus, I've got a post scheduled for tomorrow morning with the latest Little Red Wagon challenge.

Thank You For Being There - Camp Create

Saturday, June 18, 2016
Happy Saturday! I hope you're all having a wonderful weekend. I spent the morning outside doing some gardening. It is so HOT!

Last night, I created my second card for My Favorite Things' Camp Create. This time, the theme is "Sensational Sliders". I don't have any slider tools so had to get quite creative for this one! For the cut in my card, I used a small die from a bow and cut twice. I then used a large googly eye behind the bus and adhered it with a couple of square dimensionals, rubbing the sides so that they would lose their stickiness. My bus actually slides quite well!

I used my Zigs for a messy watercolour look. I did something similar for yesterday's card and was happy with the results so tried again. I'm usually all about staying in the lines!

You're Kinda Pawesome - Camp Create

Thursday, June 16, 2016
My Favorite Things is having a fun week with "Camp Create". Each day, there is a different technique that is showcased and campers can earn badges if they play along. Camp started Monday and I've watched a couple of the videos and had a chance to create my first camp card today. I'm off this week and I thought I'd have more time to play - but the deadline is next week so I've got time to catch up.

The first theme is "Glitzy Glitter". I don't use much glitter but wanted to play along - plus, it's camp so a time to try new things!! It's not much, but I DID use glitter - and survived!! So did my craft room. I enjoyed creating my card too. The glitter was used on the cat's collar. He looks like he should have a glittery collar.

If you've got some extra time, head over to My Favorite Things and check out Camp Create!! Here's my first badge:

Paris is Always a Good Idea

Wednesday, June 15, 2016
I can't believe that it's Wednesday again already! That means it's time for another Little Red Wagon challenge. Heather is our hostess this week and she's chosen "Off we go!": create a vacation-themed project.

My favourite vacations are those where I see sites and experience new cultures - so I picked a Parisian-theme for my card. I've been to Paris a few times and hope to spend some extended time there when we retire. I started by cutting my mat with a silly stitched die and then used blue, white and red paint to watercolour the background, adding some white splatters once things had dried. The word art is a Silhouette cut file (with black gems for the dotted i's) and I finished things off with a little bunny drinking her latte.

Please head over to Little Red Wagon to see what the rest of the Girlfriends have created and then link up your own vacation-themed project!
