Birthday Blessings

Jan is this week's Little Red Wagon and she's looking for anything and everything "Totally Teddies"! She's let us know that bears of any sort will do so that's the direction I went.

I used some stamps from Flora and Fauna's Mushroom Forest set and water-coloured the background and images. The little sentiment tag was created using dies, a stamp and jute from My Craft Spot (no longer in business). I added a few vellum die-cut flowers to finish things off.

On a completely different note, I have a new man in my life!! He's the sweetest little guy and I am completely smitten with him. He's quite cuddly and such a happy soul. We've named him Bishop after Bishop Myriel from Les Mis as he has a bit of a white collar. He is rather a rascal though and part of me thinks that he would have been more appropriately named Mungojerrie!! It's a good thing he's so cute!

Hello Tag

Wednesday, February 17, 2021
It's time for our newest challenge at Little Red Wagon and this week, our newest Girlfriend is calling out, "Tag! You're It!" Chrissy has just joined Little Red Wagon and we're so excited that she is sharing her talent and friendship with us! Chrissy is challenging us to make tags of all kinds! Your tags can be part of a gift box or card or they can stand on their own.

I created two little springtime tags using a variety of dies from different companies. My brain is heading to summer mode even though we are still in the middle of winter here. I recently ordered a small travel trailer/RV and am just itching for it to get here (in a few months!) and then enjoy some weekends out of the house. It's been so long since we've been able to travel at all and it looks like things will still be local this year. I'm really excited to have a little home on wheels for camping resorts and boondocking during my summer holidays.

Please head over to Little Red Wagon to see what the rest of the Girlfriends have created for our tag challenge - and then make a tag or two of your own to join in the fun!

Everything Stops for Tea

Wednesday, February 10, 2021
Imke is hosting this week's Little Red Wagon challenge and she's chosen the theme "Hot Drinks". I've been enjoying lots of teas lately and have even had a few mugs of hot chocolate. It's been quite cold here in Central Ontario (Canada)! I much prefer warm weather so do enjoy hot drinks when I'm feeling chilled.

I feel as though I cheated a bit with this project. This past two weeks been especially busy ones with little time for anything extra. Although I did end up doing some crafting on the weekend, those creations were needed for unexpected reasons and will be used in future challenges. For this gift card holder, I simply cut some patterned paper (from a set of papers that came free with a magazine) using a gift card holder die which I've had since my early crafting days. I then cut a couple of pieces from the coordinating paper and affixed them to the holder. In order to seem as though I was putting a bit more effort into things, I added a gumdrop to the holder flap! It was fun to be in my craftroom even though it wasn't for very long. I'm looking forward to things settling a bit next week as Monday is a holiday here and I've decided to take Tuesday off as well. Four day weekend!

Valentine's Card

Wednesday, February 3, 2021
Happy Wednesday from chilly central Ontario! We haven't had much more snow the past few days but we have had some very cold temperatures. I've been spending my days looking at little travel trailers and dreaming of summer. Given that we won't be able to go on holidays again this summer, I decided to invest in a little trailer in order to at least get away to some local campgrounds. In fact, I've already booked our first camping trip!

I'm delighted to be hosting this week's Little Red Wagon challenge. The theme this week is "Total Eclipse of the Heart". For each of my challenges this year, I've chosen a theme based on an eighties hit! I'm actually looking for projects with hearts which seems quite fitting given that Valentine's Day is just around the corner.

I recently purchased some slimline dies through Amazon and used a couple of them on my card. The hearts flourish border was cut four times from a die from My Craft Spot (no longer in business) and then layered together for a bit of thickness. The top layer has a few black paint splashes on it. I used a few different shades of reds to smoosh my background and then splattered some red and black. The black panel is also embossed with some tiny hearts. I was going to leave things like that and add a Happy Valentine's Day sentiment but the card just seemed too bland. I added a little boa and some red heart gems. The sentiment can go inside.

I do hope you'll head over to Little Red Wagon to see what the rest of the Girlfriends have created and then link up your own heart-themed project!
