Recipe Card

Imke is hosting our Little Red Wagon challenge this week. For those of you who have been following Imke's journey through the alphabet, she'd landed on the letter R this week and has let us know that R is for Recipe. Imke's recipe is 1 image, 2 papers and 3 embellishments. How fun!

For my card, I used one image of a dragonfly (cut with a Jamie Rodgers die that came free with a magazine years and years ago and opened for the first time to make this card), two coordinating pieces of patterned paper, and three gemstone embellishments. I also embossed the card mat (which I hope I was allowed to include) with a butterfly embossing folder. The little Hello die cut is from the same Jamie Rodgers die set that included the dragonfly. The scalloped frame was cut with a My Favorite Things die.

Just Married - Cash Gift Idea

I'm so pleased to be hosting at Little Red Wagon again this week. I'm continuing to use Billy Joel as inspiration this year and, this week, I'm using the song "For the Longest Time". I'm asking crafters to create something nostalgic or representing memories, etc.

I had a couple of weddings to attend this summer where the bride and groom requested cash for their honeymoon fund. Instead of just adding some bills to an envelope, a friend gave me this wonderful idea for presenting the money a bit more creatively. I purchased a little VW Beetle and attached the cash and some flowers. Our multi-coloured Canadian bills make for a fabulous look!

And a little aside here... I was delighted when a student booked to meet with me on Monday and showed up in a Billy Joel t-shirt. I shared a bit about my challenge inspiration this year and they let me know that they LOVE Billy Joel, with a variety of t-shirts, posters, etc. That made me smile.

NOTE: Although this is an actual photo of the car I put together, I did ask AI to create a better background. I took the original photo on the table and the lighting didn't look the greatest. Anyway, the project looks the same but the background does not!

XOXO Hello

It's our fabulous Brenda's turn to host at Little Red Wagon and she wants to see stamps! You can use stamped images or postage stamps. You choose! In fact, you don't have to choose if you'd like to use both.

I used some Postage Stamp stamps from My Craft Spot (no longer in business). The dies used to create the "hello" speech bubble as well as the rickrack are from My Craft Spot too. I also used some generic postage stamp dies for the mat and the little postage stamp. The little girl and flower are actually part of the patterned paper. How fun!

Hot to Trot

Janice is hosting our challenge at Little Red Wagon and she's selected the theme "Hayloft". Janice is highlighting Canadian music this year and Hayloft is a song by Canadian band Mother Mother. Janice is using the song title to encourage us to create anything related to a farm. 

I used a frame from Your Next Stamp and stamps and dies from My Favorite Things to create my Hot to Trot card. The background is an image from Canva.
