Thank You (Raccoon)

Sunday, February 26, 2017
My daughter was writing an online exam this evening so we were all banned from using the internet as she didn't want any issues with connectivity. That meant a bit of extra time in my craft room and I made a card for the two latest challenges at My Favorite Things. - Sketch 321 and Color Challenge 64

We continue to be incredibly blessed by the kindness of others as we deal with my husband's cancer. I'm constantly in need of thank you cards. I really wanted to use a raccoon on my card and added part of the "Thank you dairy much" sentiment from Farm Friends. I love to mix and match to get just what I need!

I hope you have a wonderful week! I'm behind in my blog visits but hope to carve out some time later this week to do some visiting.

Hi There

Friday, February 24, 2017
Woo hoo! It's Friday! Other than my son's hockey practice and a few errands tomorrow morning, I'll be home most of the weekend. I've got a big clean planned as the dog keeps tracking in mud and dirt, despite our best attempts to wipe him off! I feel as though there is dust and dirt everywhere (even though there really isn't). Anyway, between sweeping and mopping, I also plan on some crafting. I hope you have a craft time planned somewhere in your weekend too!

I recently started following Gerda Steiner on Instagram and ended up visiting the blog to find out the details on a card that had been posted. While there, I noticed that there are a couple of challenges going on so decided to play along using a sweet digital file (that's free!). I also placed an order for some cute koalas and dies so look forward to receiving those with my snail mail.

I'm linking my card up to the Gerda Steiner 30th Share Your Design Challenge.

Enjoy your weekend!

Howdy from the Herd

Wednesday, February 22, 2017
It's time for a new challenge at Little Red Wagon, and this one is "Down on the Farm". Jan is our hostess this week and she wants to see our farm-themed projects - from farm animals to farm equipment.

I recently ordered MFT's Farm Friends and was hoping it would arrive in time to create for this week's challenge. Fortunately, it did and I was able to put this card together on Monday. Yay!

Please head over to Little Red Wagon to check out the rest of the Girlfriends' projects - and then link up your own farm creation! We'd love to see what you make!

I'm also linking up my card at CropStop, where this month's challenge is "Anything Goes" - as long as you use a product or company affiliated with CropStop.

In addition to the products listed below, I also used a grass die from My Craft Spot (no longer in business).

Everything Okay?

Happy Family Day to all my Canadian friends who are celebrating this special day today. We've had a lovely day at home and I'm currently cooking our favourite family meal, chicken enchilada bake. We've also got a half-birthday cake for dessert. All my children have August birthdays so we always enjoy a half-birthday celebration in February. The older two have invited their "significant others" as well so we're in for a fun evening!

I did have some time this afternoon to play with my new MFT Farm Friends set. I created this card for the latest MFT Sketch Challenge (Sketch Challenge 320).

You Rock!

Wednesday, February 15, 2017
We're all in love this week at Little Red Wagon - in love with our crafting supplies! Heather calls this challenge a "Season of Love" and she wants to see us using products from a company that we love to use. I love almost all my crafting supplies, so this was an easy challenge for me! I did have some trouble narrowing things down, but limited myself to three. I hope that's not too much!

The first company that I love to use is Your Next Stamp. They're a Canadian company and aren't too far from me! I love the cute images and sentiments on their stamp sets - and I also love that they have a Canadian/US price selector at the top of their online shop. That makes a HUGE difference to all of us in Canada! The border around my fun image is from My Favorite Things (appropriately named for this challenge!). The stitched square border and white rectangular mat are from My Favorite Things. I've got a lot of MFT frames and love to use them! Finally, the star border under my image and the little orange stars are cut with a border die from My Craft Spot - my all-time favourite company, even though Kimberly is no longer in business. I usually stamp a My Craft Spot sentiment inside my cards. I have each and every stamp and die that My Craft Spot ever produced. I LOVE them!!

Please head over to Little Red Wagon to see what the rest of the Girlfriends have created - and to see what their favourite companies are. Then link up your own project. You get to use your favourite supplies to make it!

I created this card with Your Next Stamp's latest challenge (Sketch Challenge #57) in mind so will enter my card there.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Tuesday, February 14, 2017
Yesterday, I posted a card that I made with my daughter for her boyfriend. Today, I'm sharing a card that I made for my daughter! When I first saw the little latte die, I thought it would be perfect for making something for my daughter. She's my favourite Starbucks date!

I created the background using a few different ink colours as well as a few different products - a heart stencil (see product list below) as well as some heart stamps (retired from My Craft Spot). The sentiment is a combination of stamps from My Favorite Things and Your Next Stamp.

I'm also going to link up this card for Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge: Cute. When my daughter first saw the die (before I had even used it), she said it was the cutest of all my dies and her definite favourite!

I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day, whatever you are doing and whoever you are with. xox

Love You a Latte

Monday, February 13, 2017
I was delighted when my daughter asked if I would help her make a Valentine for her boyfriend. We had fun on Saturday morning putting this card together for Nick.

I'll be linking this card up at Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge. The theme this week is "Cute".

Wool You Be Mine?

Sunday, February 12, 2017
We got heaps and heaps of snow today! My youngest was supposed to have an out-of-town hockey game but it was cancelled due to the weather so the rest of the family decided to go and see "Lego Batman". I decided to enjoy some quiet time all to myself in my craft room. The dog and two cats spent most of the time with me, but other than one hissing match between the cats, they didn't disturb me at all. I feel so refreshed and renewed!

I made a couple of cards, and this is one of them. I made it with the latest MFT Card Challenge (Sketch #319) in mind. Originally, I had green grass but I just didn't like the look so I decided that my grass would be pink! I'm much happier now.

For those of you who also had snow, happy shovelling! And may all of you have a wonderful week ahead.

A Cheerful Hello

Saturday, February 11, 2017
I was so delighted to be the winner in last month's Reverse Confetti Sketch for You to Try Challenge (for my set of #happymail cards)! I won a $20 credit to the Reverse Confetti store and had no problem spending my winnings and then some! I used a few of my new items on this card, which I put together for this month's Sketch for You to Try.

Here's a photo of the sketch on which I based my card:

We had a busy morning but I spent the afternoon in my craft room - having lots of fun! I hope you all enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Sending Love

Wednesday, February 8, 2017
It's Sandy's turn to host at Little Red Wagon and she has a colour challenge for us this week: Use red and/or pink with black. I put my new Happy Mail stamp and die set to work again for this one!

I used the little envelopes with some masking paper to create my background and then used a few different shades of red (even though they all look the same!) to colour the stamps. After colouring and cutting the letter box and mouse, I affixed them to the card. I finished things off with a heat-embossed sentiment from My Craft Spot (retired), which I cut using a die from My Craft Spot.

Please head over to Little Red Wagon to join the fun! We can't wait to see what you create!

Thinking of Ewe

Sunday, February 5, 2017
This weekend has been a busy one. We had a Christmas party to attend yesterday! I know it seems a little (!) late, but with my husband's illness, our friends postponed our annual get-together until we were able to go. We had a fabulous time with lots of good food and lots of laughs. We're so blessed to have such wonderful friends.

I did have a bit of time this evening to spend time in my craft room and decided to create a card for this week's MFT Card Challenge (Sketch Challenge #318). I recently purchased the MFT Band-Aids dies and decided that I would give them a go to create a get well card.

I hope you all have a wonderful week! We're due for some freezing rain which is never much fun - unless it turns into a day at home!!

So Tweeeeet

Wednesday, February 1, 2017
Happy February! I'm thrilled to be the hostess at Little Red Wagon this week, where this week's challenge is for the birds, literally! I'd like to see your projects with birds on them.

I made a set of cards, two for "bird-days" and one thank you card. The cards were fairly simple to put together with a bit of ink blending over a stencil, some stamping, colouring and cutting.

Please head over to Little Red Wagon to see what the rest of the Girlfriends have created, and then link up your own bird-themed project. I look forward to seeing all your creations!
