Merci

Wednesday, March 8, 2023
Bonjour! This week, the delightful Shani is our hostess at Little Red Wagon. Shani lives in France and she's chosen the theme "Frenchified" for this week's challenge. Basically, if your creation is inspired by something with a French connection, you're just the person we want to have you join us! Think wine, brie and camembert, escargots, macarons, Marseille soaps, Chanel, Dior or Vuitton, etc.

I decided to go ultra literal and used Paris and the Eiffel Tower on my card. I've been privileged to visit Paris and other parts of France several times. We usually rent a flat for the full "when in France" experience. Paris is one of my favourite places to visit.

The background for my card was created with an MFT stamp and the Eiffel Tower stamp is from MFT's "In Paris" stamp set. I used some blue, white and red twine (colours of the French flag) and letter dies from My Craft Spot (no longer in business).

Please head to Little Red Wagon for "l'inspiration française" and then think happy French thoughts as you create for this week's challenge.

With Love on Your Birthday

Wednesday, September 15, 2021
It's the very talented Chrissy's turn to host at Little Red Wagon and she wants us to "Washi Any Way You Can". As you probably guessed, Chrissy is looking for washi tape on our creations.

Years ago, I was waiting in line at one of our department stores and I saw some fun Parisian-themed washi tape which I *had* to have. I think I used a couple of the rolls twice and it's been in my craft stash since. Thanks to Chrissy, I put the washi to use along with an Eiffel Tower and sentiment stamp from My Favorite Things.

Please head over to Little Red Wagon to see what the rest of the Girlfriends have created - and then pull out your washi tape, get crafting and link up for this week's challenge!

Together is a Beautiful Place to Be

Wednesday, April 14, 2021
Happy Wednesday! It's finally starting to feel like spring around here. We had some beautiful weather last week and our spring flowers are popping up. Some of my daffodils have already bloomed. Daffs are my favourite so I'm always thrilled to see their yellow heads dancing in my gardens!

I'm happy to be hosting this week's Little Red Wagon Challenge. Moving along with my Classic 80s challenge themes this year, I've chosen "In the Air Tonight". I'm looking for anything airborne - from kites to birds to planes to balloons - and more!

I opted to use a couple of hot air balloons from MFTs In Paris stamp set. I did some masking to layer the balloons and to ink a stencilled cloud background (although it's difficult to see the clouds). I used my Zig watercoloured markers too. I haven't used those in a bit.

Please head over to Little Red Wagon to see what the rest of the Girlfriends have created - and then link up your own "In the Air Tonight" projects. I'm looking forward to seeing what you make!

Life is a Beautiful Ride

Wednesday, June 27, 2018
It's Heather's turn to host at Little Red Wagon and she wants to see projects celebrating "Summer Fundays" - projects that represent summer fun.

Although I am not a cyclist, my husband was and there was nothing he enjoyed more in the summer than riding his bicycle. My middle son and his girlfriend have been very busy planning a cycle fundraiser in support of esophageal cancer (Ralph's Race Against Cancer - July 14) and they have been blessed with some fabulous donations from a variety of sponsors. I have been busy making thank you cards for sponsors and volunteers.

Please head over to Little Red Wagon to see what the rest of the Girlfriends have created - and then link up your own Summer Fundays projects!

You LIft My Spirits

Wednesday, June 20, 2018
Imke is our Little Red Wagon hostess this week and, with summer holidays just around the corner, she's thinking about travel. She'd like to see projects of any kind (cards, home decor, bags and boxes, scrapbook pages, etc.) dealing with anything to do with travel! You can focus on a particular place or something that you enjoy doing while traveling.

I love to travel! London is my favourite city to visit, with Paris coming in a close second. When I visit Paris, I typically stay in a short-term rental so that I can be fully immersed in the culture, visiting local grocers and bakeries for daily necessities. Well, I suppose that sweet treats aren't really necessary, but I'm very drawn to them all the same!!

I used MFT's In Paris stamp set to create my card, doing just a little bit of masking to create my scene.

Please head over to Little Red Wagon to see the rest of the Girlfriends' takes on this challenge - and then think about travel as you create a project to link up this week!
