My Craft Spot Stamp Release Party - Day 2

Tuesday, February 25, 2014

It's Day 2 of the My Craft Spot stamp release party!  This week, we're showcasing FIVE new stamp sets and THREE new sets of metal dies - ending with the My Craft Spot Stamp Release Party blog hop - with prizes at EACH stop along the way!!

Today, we're sharing projects created with the NEW Scrapping Life - Everyday stamp set and co-ordinating NEW Scrapping Life Cards metal dies.  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these new sets!!  There are so many combinations to be made with the stamps and the dies are fabulous!

I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that our dog was not well.  Unfortunately, on February 13, we had to bid our final farewell.  It was absolutely heart-breaking.  Nickel and my middle guy were the best of friends.  In fact, we had got Nickel especially for Jack and the two were inseparable since the day we adopted our beloved beagle.  I made this card especially for Jack.  February 13 was indeed the saddest day of his life.

After rounding the top corners of my card base using a Stampin' Up corner rounder, I used the NEW Scrapping Life Cards metal dies to cut the blue background as well as the white photo frame.  The background was embossed with a Darice clouds folder.  One of the NEW Scrapping Life Cards metal dies was used for the heart too.  The grass was created with one of the Fancy Edges metal dies.  The beagle silhouette is a clip-art image which I found online and traced and cut using my Silhouette.

If you look closely, you will see that the heart is broken.  I used one of the Fancy Edges metal dies to break the heart.  I used the NEW Scrapping Life - Everyday stamp set to create my sentiment and finished things off with some Caribbean sequins in the bottom right corner.

Don't forget to head over to My Craft Spot to check out the rest of the sneak peeks made with the NEW Scrapping Life - Everyday stamp set and co-ordinating NEW Scrapping Life Cards metal dies. While you're there, leave a comment for Kimberly for your chance to win today's prize: the Cute Critters stamp set.

Kate, I am sorry about Jack. It is tough-you become so attached and they become a huge part of your family. We had to put our Gizzy down to and it is such a sad time but knowing he is in a better place and not in pain helps. Big hugs my friend!
Your card is so sweet and I am sure it will be forever treasured.

I'm so sorry about losing your pet. It's a difficult decision to make, I know. This little card would also work well on a scrapbook page. So sweet.

The card is so cute. Gives one an understanding of the love you had for your dog. I can totally sympathize with you. I don't really scrapbook but I have been wanting to make something to remember our kitty. She was 19 years old. Can't bring myself to do it yet.
