Beary Best Birthday

Wednesday, May 19, 2021
Happy Wednesday! I'm delighted to be hosting at Little Red Wagon this week. In keeping with my 80s hits themes, I'm going with Whitesnake's "Here I Go Again" and am looking for anything related to travel. Years ago, I used my Silhouette to create a decal for my car which read, "I don't know where I'm going but I sure know where I've been" - which are the first two lines of "Here I Go Again". Whenever the song came on, my husband and I used to sing the song at the top of our lungs together as we drove along. Happy memories.

This coming weekend is a holiday one in Canada. I was supposed to go camping and booked my site months ago. Unfortunately, our lockdown has been extended until at least June 2 so "here I stay again"! The pool has been opened though so I'll spend the time working on getting that ready for swimming. In addtion to holiday Monday, I've actually taken Friday and Tuesday off as vacation days and am looking forward to a long-overdue break!

I used My Favorite Things' Town Bear stamp set for my little bear, tree, stop sign and sentiment. The background was stamped using MFT's City Block Background. I bought the stamp when it first came out thinking I'd do all sorts of things with it... and finally inked it up for this project!

Please head over to Little Red Wagon to see the projects created by the rest of the talented design team - and then make your own travel-themed creation to join the fun. I can't wait to see what you make!

Happy Learn About Composting Day and Red T-Shirt Day!!

First of all, beginning in 2017, National AccessAbility Week was established to promote diversity, inclusion and accessibility in Canada. Red T-Shirt Day is part of the week. As many of you know, my youngest son has autism. His favourite colour is red and he typically wears a red t-shirt every day anyway! On the other hand, I have a limited supply of red t-shirts but am sporting one today. I also work in Student Accessibility Services at Trent University and our team is all wearing red t-shirts today as well.

As for Learn About Composting, that's the inspiration for our Little Red Wagon challenge of the week. I didn't even know that such a day existed! Brenda is our hostess, and she is challenging us to recycle or upcycle on our projects. I recently had a new ceiling fan installed in our family room and used some of the extra wire for my project.

Please head over to Little Red Wagon to see the rest of the Girlfriends' creations - and then recycle or upcycle something around your own house as you make something new!

I'm also linking up my card in this week's Simon Says Stamp's Anything Goes challenge.

First Birthday Bear

Our latest Little Red Wagon challenge is hosted by Heather who has chosen the theme "Riding Along". She wants to see projects showcasing transportation. A few months ago, I purchased some cute bear stamps (Town Bear from MFT stamps) that fit this challenge perfectly!

Please head over to Little Red Wagon to see what the rest of the Girlfriends have created - and then join in the "Riding Along" challenge!

This is my final week at work before holidays and then I'm off to the UK on Sunday. My middle and I are taking a trip to Scotland and England for a few weeks. Once I'm back, I'm looking forward to doing more blog visits as I'll have far more free time! It's been a blessing this year to have been busy with work but I'm ready for a bit of a break.
