Hap-PEA Birthday

Wednesday, April 16, 2025
The talented Chrissy is hosting our newest Little Red Wagon challenge and she's chosen the theme "A Birthday for Anyone". We always have a need for birthday cards, tags, gifts and scrapbook pages and this is the perfect time to create something for a special somebody or for anyone by adding to our stashes.

I opted to make a set of cards as one can never have too many birthday cards on hand. I went looking for a digistamp as I've been wanting to try them out more. However, I wasn't too keen on the prices so decided I would make my own! I headed to Canva (which I also used last week) and designed a digital image to colour. I added the sentiment in Canva and got the idea for the coloured PEA and exclamation points from a card I'd originally seen when looking for digistamps. I then used the image I made to inspire the design paper I created for the background. Now, I've got a set of four (which may be quickly depleted as I keep learning of more birthdays this month!).

Please head over to Little Red Wagon to see the rest of the birthday projects. We'd love for you to join in this week's challenge too!

Yes!! We Do!!

Wednesday, June 15, 2022
Back in the fall, I decided to take off three weeks in June (now!) as today marks five years since I lost my beloved husband to esophageal cancer. I can't believe it's been five years already. I've spent some time at the trailer, resting in nature while reading, writing and literally resting (napping). It's been so good for me. I returned home yesterday and am heading up north to Algonquin Park (a huge provincial park in Ontario, Canada) for a few days. I was able to book a spot right on the lake (Rock Lake) and am looking forward to that.

I did realize with horror on Monday that I had completely overlooked this week's Little Red Wagon challenge. Fortunately, Janice, this week's hostess, has chosen the theme "Digi-do!" As I'm sure you can guess, Janice would like us to use digital images on our projects. I found this stick figure image at a free clipart website (although copied and pasted the link to a runner-up image and no longer remember where I downloaded this one from - ugh!) and used my Silhouette software to add the "We do!!" sentiment and names. Just a bit of paper cutting and some minimal colouring and I was done. I like the simplistic look with the stick figures so it all works out.

I do hope you'll visit Little Red Wagon to see the rest of the digital images used by the Girlfriends. There are lots of freebies out there if you'd like to join but don't have any images in your stash.

Best Fishes for a Very Happy Christmas

Wednesday, September 22, 2021
It's Janice's turn to host at Little Red Wagon and she's looking for us to use digi stamps - images, sentiments, backgrounds, etc. I don't typically use digi stamps and, although I do have a few, I decided I wanted to try something new. I was delighted to find some fun festive freebie fish images from Polkadoodles so downloaded the set and picked one of my favourites.

Since it is a digistamp, I was able to do a bit of editing to add my own sentiment. I suppose that counts as a digi stamp too!

Please head over to Little Red Wagon to see what the rest of the Girlfriends have created - and then take this opportunity to browse online to check out the multitude of digistamps out there!
