Joy…Peace…Love

Wednesday, July 9, 2025
Brenda is hosting our Little Red Wagon challenge this week and her theme is “Ya Gotta Have Christmas in July”. I’m always so impressed with crafters who have their Christmas cards all made by this time of the year. Well, now I have one!!

I’m currently in the North Atlantic, on board the Queen Mary II as I sail from New York to Southampton. This has been a dream trip of mine for a while - and I’m doing it SOLO!! I had a pretty nasty spring and this is my “You are worth it” voyage to remind myself that I am a brave, strong and resilient woman. Also, July 11 would have been Ralph’s and my 33rd wedding. Since 3 is a special number for me, I’m pretty sure I would have insisted on something extra special to celebrate this year. All this to say that my next few cards will be fairly simple ones. For this one, I cut and inked a little reindeer head and the rest is some Christmas paper. He’s pretty cute though so I’m happy with how this turned out.

Please head to Little Red Wagon to see the rest of the Christmas inspiration - then join us by either starting or continuing your Christmas card collection for 2025.

Santa Gnome Treats

Wednesday, December 18, 2024
It's hard to believe that this is the final Little Red Wagon challenge of 2024. Where has the time gone? The wonderful Imke is our hostess this week and she's wishing us all a "Merry Christmas" and is looking to see Christmas projects. From cards to tags, scrapbook pages and treat holders to any other sort of paper craft, we'd love to see what you make for this festive season.

I used a generic Santa Gnome die set to create my little guys, each holding a Lindt chocolate. The die cut is actually meant to hold a lollipop but I cut each gnome twice, attaching the second cut behind the front one. I'm happy with the way they turned out and there will be a gnome at each place setting at our Christmas dinner.

Please head over to Little Red Wagon to see the rest of the Christmas projects. And, in the tradition of my faith, I wish you a very happy Christmas!

NOEL Tags and Shortbread Packages

Wednesday, December 4, 2024
Brenda is hosting our Little Red Wagon Challenge and she's calling out, "Tag! You're It!" Brenda is looking for tags. Whether the tag is the creation or your creation uses a tag in some way, we'd love to see what you've made!

Each year, I spend a day with one of my good friends baking and decorating fancy shortbread cookies. We make dozens and dozens of them! I like to prepare small bags to give as little gifts and created a set of tags to go on this year's bags. I used punches for the tags and the greenery. The tags were embossed with snowflakes and I heat-embossed the NOEL sentiment (from My Craft Spot, no longer in business). Now, I've got a few bags ready to grab when needed. Others get packaged in tins with the rest of my baking or on a large cookie tray for dinners and get-togethers.

Please head over to Little Red Wagon to see the rest of the tags. We'd love for you to join our "Tag! You're It!" challenge too!

Non-Traditional Christmas Colours

Wednesday, November 27, 2024
It's Janice's turn to host our Little Red Wagon challenge this week and she's looking for "non-traditional winter holiday" projects. Non-traditional could refer to themes, images, colours, styles, etc.

I created a card using purple and green papers instead of the traditional red and green typically associated with Christmas. Unfortunately, the sentiment on the tree did not photograph well. Although there isn't a great deal of contrast in person, it's more easily read than here. I could either get the letters to show better and be blinded by the glare of the glittery purple or save our sight and not have the lettering be as defined. In the interest of protecting our vision in order to later view the rest of the Design Team projects, I went with the latter option. The tree reads, "We wish you a merry Christmas".

Now it's time to head over to Little Red Wagon to check out the rest of the non-traditional winter holiday projects and then link up one (or more!) of your own.
