Hang in There

I'm delighted to be back today with another CropStop guest designer post. For today's project, I created a card using Lawn Fawn's Hang in There stamp set.

I started by stamping, colouring and cutting the sloth from the stamp set before putting it aside as I worked on the background. I put a bit of Mowed Lawn distress ink and Peeled Paint distress oxide on my craft mat, spritzing a bit of water on each. I then used a paint brush to add colour to my watercolour cardstock. Once dry, I stamped leaved using Peeled Paint distress oxide, using both the solid and outline leaves from the Hang in There stamp set. I layered the mat (cut using MFT's Blueprints 29) on a piece of green cardstock and then adhered that to my card base.

I used MFT's single stitch oval dies to cut vellum and more watercolour cardstock to frame my little sloth. The clouds were cut with Lawn Fawn's Puffy Cloud Border dies as well as MFT's Blueprints 29, using both watercolour cardstock and vellum. I used my Misti to stamp the sentiment. I finished everything off with some Toadally Green sequins from My Craft Spot (no longer in business).

Never Stop Believing You are Awesome

Since Monday was a holiday in Canada, today feels as though it should only be Tuesday - but it IS Wednesday. That means that it's time for a new challenge on the Little Red Wagon blog. This week, Heather is hosting and she'd like to see unicorns or rainbows (or both!) on your projects.

I was originally going to do something with a rainbow but recently picked up the Magical Unicorn stamp set from Your Next Stamp and figured that this was the perfect time to use it! I also just received some glittery embossing powder and the Wink of Stella brush pen so put those to use on my card too!

Please head over to Little Red Wagon to see what the rest of the Girlfriends have created. Then, we'd love for you to add to this week's magic by linking up your own unicorn and rainbow projects!

I'm also linking up my card in the latest Your Next Stamp Colour Challenge (YNS Challenge #64). The colours were the perfect choice for my glittery unicorn!

Hope Your Birthday is a Smash

Welcome friends! I am delighted to be guest designing at CropStop today! CropStop has a fabulous selection of crafting supplies.

I've seen a few cards created with the new Lawn Fawn Year Seven stamp set and thought the pinata looked so fun! After stamping, colouring (including some Nuvo drops for a little bit of added detail) and cutting my pinata, I created a background using Martha Stewart fringe scissors and three colours of cardstock. I then used an MFT die to cut the fringed background as well as a white mat.

For the card base, I stamped the fun treats from the Year Seven stamp set in VersaMark and heat embossed them with white embossing powder. I then layered the white and fringed mats on top with Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive before affixing the pinata with foam dots. I tied some orange jute string for a bit of fun detail.

The banners were cut with dies from My Craft Spot (no longer in business) and stamped and heat embossed with the sentiment from the Year Seven Set. I finished things off with some bright yellow enamel dots.

Please head over to CropStop to check out the array of crafting supplies available. I'll be back next Friday with another CropStop guest design post!

Have a Wild Day

It's Wednesday again, which means a new challenge on the Little Red Wagon blog. This week, Sandy is our hostess and she is challenging us to use a sun on our projects. Here in Central Ontario, the sun is finally beginning to shine after last week's rain.

I fell in love with the Safari Friends stamp set (April's free gift with Papercraft Essentials). The little characters seemed perfect for a sunny day creation!

I recently purchased the MFT cloud stencil and used it for the first time on my card. I love it!! I don't know why it's taken so long for somebody to think of this idea. If you've been considering the stencil, it's got two inky thumbs up from me!

Please head over to Little Red Wagon to see how the rest of the Girlfriends have used suns on their projects. You can link up your own creation too! It's always a joy to see what you make!

Love You Mum

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there! I'm happy to have all my children home this weekend. We'll have a quiet day at home tomorrow and my youngest told me that I'll be spoiled so I'm looking forward to that!!

I thoroughly enjoyed making this card for my mum and can't wait to give it to her. I used the free stamp from April's Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine as the focal point of my card, first stamping the image with Versamark and then using white embossing powder before colouring with my Zigs. I used my water brush for the first time (even though it's been in my craft desk for over a year) and am SO happy with how it worked with my Zigs! I'll be using it again for sure.

I'm entering my card in this week's It's a Frame Up challenge on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog.

Ruff Day

It's my turn to host at Little Red Wagon and I've chosen the theme "Punny Projects" - use a pun on your creation. I love puns so can't wait to see what you create!

For my card, I used a variety of products from My Favorite Things. When I first saw the Four-Legged Friends stamp set, it was a must have for me! The little pups are adorable! I've got a few friends who could use some cheering up and made this card especially for one of them. I hope it helps a little bit.

Please head over to Little Red Wagon to see the punny projects created by the rest of the Girlfriends and then link up your own. I'll be popping by to see them all!

Masculine Thank You Cards

We have been blessed with the kindness and goodness of others during my husband's illness so I've been making lots of thank you cards lately. These ones were fairly quick to put together. I wanted something that was somewhat masculine to thank some of the men who have helped us out.

I started by stamping the sentiment and line of "paint" with Versamark and then used copper embossing powder. After smooshing my watercolour cardstock into distress oxide ink a few times (and drying with my heat tool between each inking), I cut the mat with a wonky frame, added a few sequins and droplets and decided I was done! I'm happy with how these turned out and how fast they were to put together. In fact, I made a set in pink and pistachio with white embossing too!

Hello - Thank Ewe

My husband came home from the hospital yesterday! He was there a month so it's a huge relief to finally have him home. I'm off work for the summer and to take care of him. While he slept, I had a chance to play and made this card for the current My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge (Sketch #331) and Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge (A Hint of Pink).

I had fun putting this card, although messed up when putting the white/pink mat on my card base the first time around so it ended up in the recycling bin! Fortunately, I hadn't adhered anything else at that point so it didn't take too long to redo things. Phew! I was originally going to use the sentiment "Wool always be friends" but it was a bit too long for the card. I wasn't sure whether or not to keep the little mouse there (as I had originally planned) but he's just so sweet that I decided I couldn't bear to recycle him!

Welcome Little One

It's time to celebrate at Little Red Wagon this week. Mandy is our hostess, and she's looking for celebration-themed projects of any kind. My son's girlfriend became an aunt for the first time last week as her older sister gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. Definitely something to celebrate!!

I just love the sweet critters from Your Next Stamp's Stacked with Fun set. I'd used the monkey a few weeks ago on the baby shower card I made for Kaitlyn's sister and used the elephant from the same set for this card.

I used some texture paste and Peacock Feather ink with a Simon Says Stamp stencil for the hearts along the left side of my card. I added them to follow the current Your Next Stamp Sketch Challenge (Challenge #63) and I love the way they look!

Please head over to Little Red Wagon to see what the rest of the Girlfriends have created and link up your own celebration-themed project!
