DAD - UR the Best!

This week at My Craft Spot, we are getting ready to celebrate Father's Day.  I don't have a father, but I am blessed to have a wonderful husband who is the father of our fabulous children.  My youngest son worked with me to create this card for his dad.  I love having a crafting buddy!

I used some burlap to create the oversized banner and stitched along the edges.  My son ran the background through the Cuttlebug (he loves the Cuttlebug as much as I do!) with a chevron folder from Stampin' Up.  I cut the mustache from Mustaches and Glasses and the DAD letters from Go Canada.

My son cut out the little star tag layers from My Craft Spot's Lacy Banners metal die set.  He also chose the sentiment which comes from My Craft Spot's Tiny Tags 2.  I had initially wanted to use the U Rock sentiment (from the same stamp set), but my son looked through the stamps and decided that UR the Best was the better choice, telling me that his dad IS the best. We finished things off with some fun googly eyes and extra thread around the card.

Please head over to My Craft Spot to check out the creations by the rest of the design team and to link up your own "Dad" creation for a chance to win this week's prize... some fabulous baker's twine!

My sweet friend, you and your crafting buddy did such an outstanding job! You make a marvelous team. :o) The burlap is not only texturally wonderful, but it's innately perfect for a masculine card. The stitching is beautiful and I love the entire design. Your sweetheart is going to love it. :o) I hope you have a happy night, Kate! :o)

Hugs and blessings!

How fun to have your little guy help you! I can't wait for my granddaughter to get a little bit older to do that kind of stuff! He will always remember that! Who doesn't love the cuttlebug?? Haha, he knows what he is talking about!
Kate, your card is amazing and so darn cute! The textures are awesome and just love the darling design!
I am sorry it seems we haven't touched base much lately. Life has been so crazy busy and just don't see things settling down with summer here. I guess that's how it goes, ha?
Have a great day my friend!
