Sympathy Card

This week's challenge at My Craft Spot is Get Well/Sympathy.  I decided to make a sympathy card.  LIfe has been beyond busy for me lately.  In addition to my regular position at the local college where I work, I've been offered two courses to teach.  As the courses are online, everything needs to be ready to go by this coming Friday!  I've been burning the candle at both ends but am incredibly excited by this new venture.  Anyway, the brief periods of time in my craft room are certainly a blessing amid the chaos!!

I used a  sketch I found on Pinterest for the layout of my card and this helped things come together quite quickly for me.  I'm a very slow crafter - and this card took under an hour to create (which is speedy for me)! For the most part, I simply cut papers in various sizes, embossing one of the panels and inking everything.  I used the My Craft Spot 4" Doily metal die to cut a dictionary page and layered it underneath a Wild Orchid Crafts rose, some My Craft Spot Vintage Vanilla crinkle ribbon tied in a double bow and my sentiment panel.

The beautiful sentiment is from My Craft Spot's With Deepest Sympathy stamp set.  I used a Spellbinders die to cut it out - and it looked as though the die was made for the sentiment!  I was so excited with how they worked together so perfectly!

Don't forget about the My Craft Spot Fall Stamp Release Party coming up next week!  Here's the Stamp Release Party Button.  Post it on your blog to spread the word!  In fact, once you've posted it, head back to My Craft Spot to let Kimberly know you've done so for your chance to win the Spooky Treats stamp set!!

My Craft Spot
And MORE great news!  My Craft Spot is now selling sequins!!  I've just received a package in the mail and can't wait to start creating with my new sequins!  They're all the rage in the crafting world these days.

Don't forget to head over to My Craft Spot to check things out - and to link up your Get Well/Sympathy project for this week's challenge!

  3. I love your card, Kate. Very vintagey. I don't know how you get any crafting done with all your work. I haven't been crafting for several weeks and I'm missing it. Hopefully things will slow down for both of us.
