On the Go with a Penny Slider Card

The challenges at My Craft Spot and Fantabulous Cricut both deal with "Things That Go!"  I made a motion card for my nephew's birthday.  As he does not turn 3 until September, I'm well ahead of the game!

I used Just Because Cards for the little truck.  I cut the main layer a few times in order to give the truck more stability.  I cut the road using Everyday Paper Dolls and added the middle cut using the same image resized with circles from George and Basic Shapes either end.  (I wanted a rounded look.)  I attached two pennies together using a PopDot and then adhered the pennies to the back of the truck.  Once that was done, I could "attach" the truck by putting the pennies either side of the slit in the road.  (Does that make any sense at all?!  If not, just Google "Penny Slider Card" and you'll come up with some more clear directions.)

I used a paper trimmer to cut the sky and ground.  The beige cardstock was run through my Cuttlebug to create a gravel look.  The sun is from Doodlecharms and stamped with a Peachy Keen face.  I cut the 3 using Mickey Font and added a Happy Birthday sentiment from My Craft Spot's Friends and Neighbors - Inside and Out set.  The sentiment was punched with a Stampin' Up window punch and adhered to a little mat cut by hand.  I did some stitching and doodling too!

The inside of my card was stamped with a sentiment from My Craft Spot's Birthday Wishes set.

My boys (and this includes my husband!) LOVE this card!  They were all trying it out and have put in requests for penny slider cards for their own birthdays!

Please head over to both My Craft Spot AND Fantabulous Cricut to link up your "things that go" creations.

*Many, many thanks to my sweet friend Amy Jo from Scrapping, Card Making and Living with Fibro for the fabulous Just Because Cards cartridge.  There are so many wonderful images and designs on the cartridge - and it came at just the right time to create for the On the Go challenges!  Thanks Amy Jo!
