Hallowe'en Treat Bags

I'm delighted to be hosting this week's challenge at Little Red Wagon. In keeping with themes inspired by Def Leppard this year, I've chosen "Lady Strange". Essentially, I'm looking for anything unique - such as repurposed items, unusual embellishments, etc.

We had some leftover medical gauze from my son's finger amputation this summer and I thought it would be fun to use some up on some Hallowe'en treat bags. Think mummies! I used a spooky fence border punch for the bottom strip and a Jaded Blossom die cut with haunted house patterned paper for the toppers. All treats went through my own personal quality control and I can vouch for their yumminess - especially the Reese's Cup Thins.

I'd love for you to join this week's challenge. Head over to Little Red Wagon for more inspiration and to link up your own creation!

  2. What delightful goodie bags!!! The papers at the top are perfectly complemented by the fence trim at the bottom and those medical quaze bows are such a clever idea!

  3. Lovely treat bags, Kate. I like the idea to use medical gauze. I used it time ago and wrap it around a choclate bar, added some googly eyes and a mummy was born.

  4. Love these, Kate! So clever to use medical gauze on a Halloween project! I hope your son is doing well. It's always important to put edible items through quality control before they are given out - better safe than sorry! (((:
