Thank You Cards

Happy New Year!  It seems a bit late to be saying that now, but I haven't posted anything since December.  It was wonderful to have my daughter home for the holidays.  She went back to uni last weekend but I've seen her again already!!  My youngest had a hockey game near her on Saturday so we all went for supper together.  It was such a treat!

 This week at My Craft Spot, the challenge is "Anything Goes".  This challenge is open to all but winners must use My Craft Spot stamps to qualify.

For my project, I created a set of Thank You cards.  I used Makin' the Grade for "you" (using the negative space on my card front) and then stamped above it with a stamp from My Craft Spot's Thank You stamp set.  


I embossed the top left corner with a little 2x2 Cuttlebug folder and added tiny pearls to the middle of each of the flowers.  I layered some Cosmo Cricket papers, punching a border with a Martha Stewart punch.  I then wrapped some wonderful Pumpkin Spice crinkle ribbon from My Craft Spot around the card.  Before popping the card front onto the card base, I layered a bit of the striped paper underneath.  I finished everything off by rounding the top corners with a Creative Memories punch.

    Wow Kate, these are fabulous! I love how you did the negative space and the papers are so fun! Great little detail of some embossing and wrapping that pumpkin spice ribbon looks awesome! Great card set!
    Glad you had time to enjoy your daughter home over the holidays. How exciting for you to have a hockey game near her too:) Another fun gathering!

    Happy twenty thirteen! I LOVE this card set and pinned it to remember it! I just made a card using negative spaces and LOVED it too! But I need thank YOU notes.. how cute! Kathi

    Beautiful cards Kate! The embossing adds such a sweet touch and I love the pretty print peeking out the front of your card - just lovely!

    How does your daughter like school? How are you doing with her away?

    My oldest is a senior this year, so this will be me next year, sooo scary!

    Hi Kate
    I just wanted to stop by and thank you for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment about my daughter, it was pretty scaring what should of been something routine turned into a nightmare but I am happy to say that after a week my daughter is home with us where I can take care of her. Christy's hubby will be starting vacation in a couple of days and then she will be able to go home. Thank you for your prayers and good wishes.

    I love the cutout letters with the patterned paper showing through! That gives me some good ideas. :) I also love the rounded corners.
